A Passion for Paper & the Past

Welcome to The Poster & Paper Studio. I care for paper-based objects through considered conservation practice, specialist materials knowledge and a careful respect for the history each item carries.

I am a professionally trained paper and book conservator, qualified with distinction from the prestigious City & Guilds of London Art School. I specialise in conserving paper documents, posters and related ephemera. I am also passionate about collecting, researching and writing about posters and ephemera from the counterculture of 1960s London, from designers such as Hapshash and the Coloured Coat to long-forgotten music festivals.

My approach is guided by an understanding of historic materials, established conservation principles and museum-informed techniques. Each treatment is carefully considered through close engagement with the owner or custodian, so that treatment options, priorities and individual needs can be discussed while preserving the object’s integrity, originality, character and historical value.

As a professional musician and avid collector, I have a particular affinity with music-related posters and memorabilia. This background gives me a deep appreciation of their cultural context, visual significance and personal value, while my conservation training ensures they are assessed and treated with appropriate professional care. I can also offer informed appraisal and authentication guidance for music-related material where appropriate.
